The view from the window is absolutely incredible! The reception was so warm and friendly — we truly felt welcome. Every request was handled with kindness and care. Second time visit here, I'll say the yard is one of the best spot of hardanger fjord. Renovated room is very clean and huge. Also with coffee/tea facilities and a fridge, which used to have none. Like it very much. Had three nights buffet dinner. The qarm dishes and pastries changed daily. Has a huge variety of seafood and pastries. Comparing to last time I visited, the food imporved a lot. But I do missed the harp live performance. The basement (ground floor) changed but still have a lot to explore. You can find lots of stories belonging to Edvard Grieg and history of this hotel there. There are also several seating area, each with different kinds of feeling. The atmosphere is fantastic. I tried playing my instrument in one of the area in a rainy day and love it.

AMAZING place to stay! Direct on the Fjord , perfectly quiet and clean, and the camp ground is also so quiet and clean. Would absolutely stay here again . There's also a lot of hiking opportunities in the area as well as a lovely walk into the village that has a good pizza place and a bakery.

We stayed in the self contained unit, a few km away from the main guesthouse. It was a great location , meters from the fjord, which we swam in after doing the fabulous Queens walk on a hot sunny day.

    All the restaurants and the hotel were closed. Not possible to eat out. The factory sale shop was closed at Saturday, to bad, because this is normally a shopping day in the bigger cities. The foodstore Spar was ok, selling much more than Food (toys, clothes, Fishing Equipment, hiking Equipment, house Paint, interior articles, knitting wool, fabrics etc).

    The hotel is in an excellent location if someone would like to go hiking. The kitchen is very professional for almost everyone who wants to make a daily meal, including microwave, oven, freezer, kitchen stove, and tableware. So, you can cook a nice meal before you challenge the wild path.

    The cute hut is on top of a hill in Kinsarvik. It’s small but you have everything you need and the owner Lin and her family are very helpful. She told us about few trails and places we could visit. Will definitely stay here when I visit hardanger..
