We must admit we were a little worried about this hotel after having read some of the reviews, but we were extremely impressed with our stay. Our room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The shower room was simple, but it was perfectly clean and there was always plenty of hot water. The big " plus" for the hotel was the whole atmosphere the owners and staff have created - friendly and welcoming. The entrance , lounge and dining areas are stripped back and simple but it all works well. Breakfast service was a surprise ( as we thought there was no breakfast) - coffee and fresh, warm croissants - and one of the best views down the Fjord in Balestrand - what's not to like?

EVERYTHING!! The location is paradise, the hotel is super charismatic and fantastic. Priceless view!!! Staff was great. The breakfast was a dream, I couldn’t get enough of the salmon!

Everything! This was the most delightful place to stay - a guesthouse in the real sense of the word where Paolo and Gullveig have created a warm and hospitable home away from home. They are the most friendly and welcoming of hosts with so much travel experience of their own that conversation is lively and so interesting. They know the area well and can advise on all there is to do. The view is beautiful across the fjord and there is always something going on with the ferries right outside - lively but never intrusive.
