Scenic, lots to do and locals are friendly. Really easy to get around the town centre on foot, everything is close together. Recommend stopping at some cellar doors in Waipara on the way through if you are coming from Christchurch. We hiked, went quad biking with Hanmer Springs Attractions, visited the Hanmer Springs Pools, dined out and shopped at various locations.. We even hired a Rocket bike to do a lap of town and get our bearings. We drove up the Hanmer Springs Ski Area but unfortunately, lack of snow and windy weather prevented us having a day of snow sports. Charming townGuest review byHannahNew Zealand - 8.0

Hanmer Springs is a lovely little township. The hot pools were a great experience with lots of pools available. MK restaurant was beautiful - the food and the experience was amazing. Hanmer Springs is a neat place which we have stayed at as a stopover on longer trips. Walked Conical Hill walkway. Have ridden bike trails before latest visit. Hot pools are exceptional...among, if not the best, in the country...great price for seniors with bonus AA discount. Shops are nice. Lovely scenery. Hamner Springs is a lovely place to visit, lots of little shops, very yummy bakery and a sweet shop for those who like lollies. We loved all the aspects of Hanmer Springs.
We loved all the aspects of Hanmer Springs. The Spa at the Pools was great and we benefitted from our massage and facial. The Pools themselves were a highlight. The shops were good. We especially enjoyed the Tait Gallery. Also loved the Forest walk and our visit to Queen Mary Hospital. Would love to come back on an open day.Guest review byWendyNew Zealand

I wanted to visit Hanmer Springs as I haven’t been in a while. I really liked the friendly staff and how lovely the accommodation was. It was awesome waking up to the snow on the mountains. I also really liked how you could borrow DVD’s at the reception and have movie nights in your room. Very good value for money. The location it is perfect because it is very close to the and Hanmer Springs centre, but also because there are many trekking's around the area. Also, the room, bed and facilities of the hotel are excellent in terms of relation price/quality. The bathrooms were designed with luxury in mind and have plenty of space for a couple to use together. The location to Hanmer Springs is good and the views from the room is absolutely beautiful. The unit was very clean and well stocked with things you don’t often find in other motels e.g. torches and a first aid kit. The complimentary breakfast cereals,coffee, milk etc were replaced daily.
