I didn’t see much of Otematata as I arrived late afternoon, had a meal and then retired to my room. The next day we drove on to Geraldine early morning. The countryside is interesting, the views superb, I love the McKenzie country and I’ll return for longer next time. The apartment was very clean and had everything that we needed. The pub was brilliant and had exceptional food and a great atmosphere. Previous negative reviews of the apartments were completely unfounded. Sofa bed was lumpy with springs sticking out and needs replacing, otherwise no complaints. A short stay for us as we were just passing through. Nice easy drive from the hot tubs at Omarama. We had read the reviews about the on site pub and had planned to eat there. But our plans changed and we ate before we arrived so a bit sad we didn't get to experience the great food on offer. Maybe next time!Guest review byCarolNew Zealand
