Great place to experience unexplored part of Panama with two wonderful hosts, who are extremely knowledgeable of Panama’s beautiful nature! Great chance to see turtles laying eggs, hatching of the eggs and experiencing the new born turtles to go into the sea. And on top of it, our host Cees was a great guide taking us around! Really beautiful small hotel in a unique and peaceful location. While the drive is long, it is worth it and you get to experience being in a jungle with howler monkeys, lots of birds, squirrels, butterflies as well as the most beautiful endless beach. Cari and her husband put a lot of care and thought into the hotel and really look after each guest. The food is outstanding - there isn't a large choice which is understandable, but everything is locally sourced and home made and we had some of our best meals there, as well as the best gin and tonic! Overall this has been one of the nicest hotels we stayed in. For the best stay, make sure to follow Cari's instructions and understand that this is a jungle setting, so there will be some insects and you will get woken up by the howler monkeys (but then if you are to be woken up, being woken up by nature is the nicest way :) We wish we could give bonus points for her pets, the friendliest dog Princessa and cutest, little kitty Tila.

Mike, the owner, is an excellent chef. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast and dinner. He speaks many languages so communication was easy. We learned a lot from him about the area. TORIO is a very small rural location in a lush tropical setting with very friendly people. Nearby is Playa TORIO which has good swimming.

Ocekepala has a shared lounge, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Palmilla. Guests can have a drink at the snack bar.

The place was super clean. The room, the restaurant, the pool, everything was very clean. The food from the indoor restaurant was superb. They had a beautiful dog that was very friendly and two cats.
