First and foremost, your beautiful establishment and grounds and the incredible views! In addition, the staff was very accommodating and friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious - from the charcuterie board when we arrived to our dinner in the dining room as well as the incredible breakfast buffet! This was our third time staying in your hotel and, hopefully, not the last!!

Very charming, family-run hotel in the hills of the Douro Valley with not only an extraordinary view on the bending river. But most strikingly - the house has personality which obviously reflects the owner’s passion for place, history and intimacy. Vintage items, personal photos here and there makes you feel like staying at a friends’ place who also has lovely recommendations at hand when you look for places to explore. And if you want to just relax and enjoy the view - the hotel’s pool and the surrounding terraces are just perfect to calm down. Moreover: one of us was sick during our stay - and the hosts were super helpful, understanding and supporting, this was extraordinary. Thank you so much!

Really nice room with good AC and a beautiful few of the river and the valley. The owners are really nice and even gifted us some fresh fruit from their surrounding gardens and some homemade Portwine which was just exceptional. Thanks for having us!

We received such a warm welcome and felt totally comfortable during our stay. The food was exceptional, the room was very clean and modern, and we would have stayed longer if our travel plans allowed. Oliveira is a tranquil and beautiful village and, while it is little out of the way, it was well worth visiting. I would definitely recommend Casa d’Alem to family and friends.

Our best experience in Portugal! Property is lovely and with attention to details. Our baby loved the animals and the outdoor space (mainly all the gardens). Room was very comfy and large. Book a table to dinner here, food is delicious.

    I am so thankful this small hotel was recommended to us.

    I am so thankful this small hotel was recommended to us. Our host,Felipe was by far the most gracious person we encountered during are time in Portugal. The hotel was warm with so many extra touches to make you feel at home, and our room had a fantastic view of the Douro River. There was an excellent breakfast each morning. The house cat,Mia was a kick. If you are in the Douro, I highly recommend you stay at Imaginario d'El-Rei.

    The location in Duro is breathtaking.

    The location in Duro is breathtaking. Casa de Calinhas is perfect for staying one night. They recommend restaurants and wineries to visit. Idillic day. Village is very small and up windy roads in the mountain, but restaurant have delicious homemade cuisine.

    This place is faultless. The owners attention to detail is quite is impressive. They have created a special place that oozes style with impeccable service from their team of staff. There is very much a ‘can do’ attitude here. The food is fresh and all grown on the estate and the wines were superb. It is worth being picked up from Porto Airport (a service provided by the hotel). This one of many very nice touches. We will definitely come back.

    The hotel is located in a picturesque location. The building is filled with family history, which creates a unique flavor. The view from the window is very picturesque. We also really enjoyed breakfast; it took place in a wonderful dining room.
