The breakfast was lovely (fresh and delicious food + really nice staff), the reception staff was really helpful and nice (proactive). The rooms are not big, but beautifully decorated and comfortable. the views are superb. The location is on a hill (so prepared for some hill-side-driving), but there is a comfortable parking lot near the hotel you can use, which makes it really easy.

Exceptional stay, having the whole house to enjoy overlooking the sea was amazing. Great location and 5 min drive to local beach which is stunning, house is massive and incredibly well kitted out for dinners in. Would highly recommend!

Lockbox on door was easy to use. Superbly clean. Loads of space. Super comfy beds and comforter and sheets. Upscale house all around. Easy to park. All the small things of home (powerful shower, high end toiletries, cozy blanket, cup of tea, extra towels, tons of fridge space, kitchen fully stocked, outdoor patio, neighborhood coffee shop, loads of books). The list could go on and on. This place made travel so easy!

There's no better place to spend time with family and friends than the amazing Casa Refúgio dos Canhas! This apartment is not just a place – it's a truly special place! You can see the heart and soul that its incredibly helpful owner put into it in every detail of the beautiful decoration. Not only is the decor at a high level, but the location is also a real highlight! Imagine spending an evening on the terrace or in the jacuzzi, surrounded by the blissful silence of the immediate area. This apartment has everything you could possibly need to prepare and enjoy an elegant dinner, as well as the perfect setting for grilling freshly purchased seafood. And if you want to spend time by the ocean, you can't beat the intimate beach in nearby Ponta Del Sol. Last but definitely not least is the owner. Vanesa was absolutely amazing! She was so helpful before arriving at her apartment, sending photos with instructions for using the equipment in the house. She was just as helpful during his stay. In the meantime, she asked if everything was okay, which was a really nice touch. I would absolutely go back to that place!

The Villa was beautiful, outstanding views across the island. It was a large and spacious villa with everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and always available for help or questions. We loved our time here and would totally recommend this to anyone coming to Madeira and would love to come back ourselves. I would recommend hiring a car as it would make the island much more accessible. You can however walk from the villa into the town and there are a few good bars and restaurants near the beach.

    The village was delightful, we stayed a short car ride away. It was accessed through a tunnel which was too long to walk through comfortably. We can recommend ‘The Old Pharmacy’ for lovely meals, particularly brunch.

    It's got the best weather on the island.

    It's got the best weather on the island. It's far enough away from the hustle & bustle /crowds & traffic of Funchal, but close enough to everything to access the sights. It was more peaceful here and homey. We really loved our hotel (Zino's Palace).

    Its a lovely small coastal town, but parking is a massive problem, with many people parking on the pedestrian path, and yellow lines. If I was visiting for the day, I would have gone elsewhere, but as a guest staying for 3 days, we spent many hours trying to park legally. Beware you can be clamped despite no road markings or signs, or restricted access.

    A quiet little town, with nice streets and observation decks. There are several restaurants and only one shopping center in the center. It's a very nice sunset and it's always nice and warm here.

    Great walks (Levadas) in the area. Accommodation was outstanding. Immaculate inside! Great outdoor space. Extremely kind and caring Host. Private parking space. One of the best places we have stayed at.

    The house is well equipped and provides a stunning, almost 360 view on the Ponta do Sol Valley and the sea. It has a nice terrace with great facilities for barbecue. Everything was very clean and we were welcomed with a awesome gift basket of local goods by which we felt really welcomed. Upon request Carlos provided additional child equipment like kids bed, high chair, towel and even some toys :-). Which was really valuable for us!

    The hotel itself is spectacular but the staff are what make this place really special. Nicole on reception was so incredibly helpful and the restaurant staff were superb. Excellent food and facilities and will be dreaming of that view for a while. Like luxury hotels used to be in ‘the good old days’.
