Amazing place. The owners were great, recommended to me Michelen restaurant few km around. There were lots of chocolates and cookies, tea and coffe in the room. Zara towels, amazing bed linens. And they even washed my pilgrimage clothes!! 100% recommended place to stay on your camino de Santiago. You walk so hard, you should spoil yourself.

    On a beautiful river with the medieval bridge and the pretty church on the other side being the distinctive features as we approached along an esplanade of trees. Lots of cafes and restaurants from which to choose. Would recommend finding those in the narrow streets located off the front.

    We really enjoyed Ponte de Lima.

    We really enjoyed Ponte de Lima. There happened to be the European Canoe Championships and a garden show taking place, so we enjoyed that. Unlike many towns with historic areas, Ponte de Lima’s historic area is right on the river, which makes for a very picturesque experience. We enjoyed the many great restaurants and the night time practice of outlining buildings with little lights- very cool. It was easy to get around town and people were very friendly and welcoming.

    Ponte de Lima always has fun events going on.

    Ponte de Lima always has fun events going on. It’s unique in that the historic center is right on the river by the Roman bridge. While we were there, the European Canoeing Championships and a Garden Festival were happening, which was fun to watch. Plenty of free parking right at the riverside and a lovely historic district to explore. All the modern conveniences close by. We were very impressed!

    Cute town with iconic bridge.

    Cute town with iconic bridge. I stayed for a day Easter Monday...the cafes and restaurants ALL closed at 3pm. Made me go into a panic of what to eat for supper, fortunately there was a sort of superette on the main road beside the river, the owner was very helpful in helping me assemble a picnic for less than 5 Euros! and I was able to afford a taxi (11 Euros); the owner went out of his way to escort me to the taxi rank!

    Ponte de Lima is a lovely little town.

    Ponte de Lima is a lovely little town. Very quiet, even in July/August. Not too many really good restaurants, and most tend to focus on the hearty local food! If you want a traditional lunch, try A Torre. The river is perfect for swimming in. The restaurant in the golf club is nice as well.

    A lovely neat, friendly town with very helpful people and beautiful scenery. Pilgrims meal was affordable and tasty! Our pilgrim send off with a bell ringing 'ceremony' was memorable. Overall a lovely place to stay and easy to get around.

    The location is great, a 15 minute walk to the busy part of Ponte de Lima. The house itself is stunning, so much history and Paulo is a very interesting and lovely host. We were warmly welcomed by Paulo, his wife and his dog Pepe upon arriving at the property. Paulo had gifted us with some local wine, bread & cheese which was such a lovely touch. Paulo as a host couldn't have been more helpful with recommendations, taxi arranging and even gave us a lift so we could go canyoning. Loved our stay here.

    The property was exceptionally clean and very spacious. Walking distance to the bridge and centre of Ponte de Lima. Absolutely beautiful garden, perfect relaxing in the sunshine. Best of all, the hosts were accommodating, genuinely, warm and friendly; they did everything they could to ensure a comfortable stay. Fernando especially, thank you for your kind hospitality. We will definitely stay again when canoeing next brings us to Ponte de Lima.
