Lovely small friendly town with a good selection of shops, restaurants and a sandy beach with water sports, rental sunbeds and umbrellas (though a bit pricey). Even though sunbeds and umbrellas were free they were not always available as some visitors block book the beds for several weeks. Town and beach maintained well, though some bins need to be emptied more frequently. Bus service available to nearby towns/villages. Luz is a friendly resort.
Luz is a friendly resort. It has everything you need - clean beach, plenty of good restaurants in which to eat, supermarkets and small gift shops. It is perfect for families or adults who want a relaxing holiday. We had great food in Latitude, Fortaleza and Pizza Real. The house was very spacious and clean the addition of beach towels and a parasol for the beach was perfect. Everything in Luz is walking distance with fantastic restaurants such as Aquario and Ondaluz minutes away. It is easy to take the bus into Lagos for a change of scenery. We did not spend much time in the town, parking was a little tricky but apartment was well equipped and laundry facilities were useful. The balcony terrace was very spacious. The pool area was very lovely and water temperature was comfortable too keep us cooled down on some warm days. Both bathrooms were spacious. Could comfortably accommodate 4 people. We did an amazing boat tour of coastal cliffs and caves which was not that expensive. Honestly we really wouldn't mind moving to Portugal.
Honestly we really wouldn't mind moving to Portugal. We are both from the carribbean and our language is very similar to the Portugese. We love the beach, the swells the surf and especially the food. The views here are just amazing and we could stare at them for days after eachother. Luz in general is a very calm and nice beach. A lot of English people supposedly moved here back in the day when the Beatles came here and they stayed. If you like that and you feel at home it is quit easy to speak English, no issues here. Food on the beach is really good too, we recommend Zazu beach bar. Also, bring your binoculars as dolphins pass by often. While we liked Luz, we liked all the other surrounding beaches as well, we recommend to move around and see other beaches too, it would suck if you would only see praia Luz and nothing else!Guest review byShanéNetherlands

The location was spot on, the view spectacular and the apartment was spacious and very comfortable. Cristina, the owner, is very welcoming and we felt indescribably comfortable. The accommodation itself is brand new and she thinks of all the details in it. We have never stayed in such great accommodation before. You can see Cristina puts her heart into it. The breakfast is delicious.
