I only used Mae Sot as a hub to travel around to several mountain villages in the area. However, Mae Sot itself has something for everybody. The local cuisine is excellent and the people very friendly. I loved eating the readily available barbeque and the abundant locally owned coffee shops. Robison Center was a short eight-minute walk from where we stayed (Picture Book Guesthouse) where there was also a wide assortment of places to eat.Guest review byTerryUnited States - 10.0

Mae Sot is perfect place to meet nature and spend some time with local thais. People are friendly and you can buy water on pretty every corner there. It was really great experience to visit this place and definitely I would visit it again! Beautiful comfortable room, furnished in Burmese style. At the reception you can buy very nice pieces of Burmese goods (bracelets, fabrics, lacquered boxes). Great surroundings, there's a family soup kitchen across the street. The whole city has an incredible atmesphere where different peoples, Burmese tribes, mingle. We really enjoyed our stay. Huge clean quiet room, big fridge, great luggage area, comfy bed and bedding (typical hard Thai mattress). The shower is the best shower we’ve experienced in Thailand - great pressure and actually gets hot. The breakfast was incredible (beef noodle soup) and complimentary water/fruit/crackers was a nice touch. The owner is fantastic.
