We initially arrived in Kas to travel on a gullet for 3 days which was absolutely superb. When we returned from the trip we stayed in Kas for an additional 3 nights, but I wish we could have stayed longer. One of the highlights of our time in Kas was a Saklikent Jeep Safari (Xanthos Adventure Travel). The full day excursion was brilliant. We covered a lot of ground and visited some really cool spots in addition to the Saklikent Gorge. If you plan to visit Turkey, put Kas on the list.Guest review byMichelleAustralia - 8.0
A bit touristy, as you would expect.
A bit touristy, as you would expect. Downtown you have a few restaurants with access to the sea/lounge chairs with umbrellas and food service. That was our beach time and very relaxing, with the wind keeping most of the cigarette smoke away. If you want to get to any of the other beaches, you will need a car or take the bus. Plenty of restaurants with great food. Filter them with TripAdvisor ratings, which we found to be accurate. If you want a quiet, peaceful tour of the sunken city, choose Xanthos tours. Kas is a nice little town with plenty to do.
Kas is a nice little town with plenty to do. You can wander the old town, go to one of the many beaches near by. Day trips by boat are easy with plenty of boats in the marina ready to book. Day trip to Greece was very nice (tip. book the faster ferry with Meis ferry lines it takes 7 minutes instead of 20 minutes and is the same price as Meis express). If you hire a car you can access other towns / beaches with ease. Local buses are fine for most short trips up to an hour away. Wonderful vibrant town with a busy nightlife. Staying on the peninsula in the wonderful Casa Bi hotel was a relaxing haven to return to after a fabulous day out. Kas is a working city and is very busy.However it is very pretty with lots of old cobbled streets above the harbour. I really can't enthuse more than I have done. If you can get a booking, you're lucky. They stay open in Winter. There is a dedicated Travel place in the town, Amber Travel. Useful to remember. Friday is market Day. A walk to Antiphellos is a must. Take a day trip to Cirali beach. Even cross to Meis Island which is Greek IF you have a Schengen Visa. Kervan is a good place to eat in the main road of Kas. Really, just walk, and make your own lovely discoveries. It's that kind of place.Guest review byRonaldSouth Africa
