Amazing atmosphere, very warm and accommodating. The surroundings were magical, the view was spectacular and the room was cozy. We came on a rainy day, but this spot made it easy to still enjoy Jiufen and relax and keep dry. The breakfast was just what we needed too!

The location couldn't have been better. I travelled with my elderly parents and wanted to be close to the old street without having to climb too many stairs. The owners were nice enough to give us the only room on the main floor. The room was spacious and the view was spectacular. The room and public areas were so clean and well maintained. The breakfast was also stellar and highlighted the essence of Taiwanese cuisine. From the decor to the quality of furniture and customer service, we could tell the owners put a lot of thought into running the b&b.

EVERYTHING!!! The host is very generous and the services is above the par! We were hungry that night and asked her is there any vegetarian food delivery that time but unfortunately no restaurants offered the services on that time. Concerned, she offered us to toast the bread and personally sent the bread to our room. When we want to pay, she said the bread was on the house. Despite of language barrier, she tried her very best to communicate with us and without fail and delivered the service excellently

    I really enjoyed just escaping Tapei for a few days and...

    I really enjoyed just escaping Tapei for a few days and basking in the nature, even if one day was just storms and rain. There was some vegan options at Old Street and at the hotel, and the view across the water was incredible. If you have any physical issues, keep in mind there are a lot of steep steps, hills and cobblestone pathways that may limit accessibility.

    Tourist trap.

    Tourist trap. Beautiful for photos (if you're ok with hundreds of people in the background) but everything else was bad -- soooo overcrowded. The food was bad (except for pineapple cakes) and everything was only open during the peak of the day - around 10-7, so forget about breakfast or a late dinner. If you insist on seeing it then I think a day trip would suffice, sadly staying the night was not at all beneficial because once the day tourists leave on their tour busses, the whole place shuts down with metal doors on all the shops in the street so doesn't even make for a good photo.

    A tip to other guests: you can take a taxi from the train...

    A tip to other guests: you can take a taxi from the train station directly to this hotel and cost 270NTB, instead of spending many minutes climbing the stairs and getting lost like I did. I didn't know earlier and wasted a lot of time. But on my way down the host called a taxi for me, saved me the pain of carrying a suitcase down. Remember to bring your own shampoo and conditioner, and bring a bath towel if you are used to the hotels in Taipei.

    Jiufen, specifically the Old Street area, is no doubt a...

    Jiufen, specifically the Old Street area, is no doubt a touristy area. My husband and I had a lot of fun trying the different food and snacks and walking through Old Street and seeing all the lanterns lit up. The morning mist added a little magic to the place. We opted to stay overnight so we can enjoy the village after the tour groups have left during the evening and before they arrived in the morning. Would recommend anyone to do the same. You get to see the charm of Old Street and the village when the crowds are gone. The view of the mountains and sea from the village was breathtaking. It was a great way to slow down after spending time in Taipei.

    I went to visit the mining sights and its related history.

    I went to visit the mining sights and its related history. I enjoyed the scenic views. As a photography enthusiast I took a lot of average photos as I am not a good photographer. But I like to take a lot photos. Old Jiufen Street was very busy with many tourists and a lot of things to buy and eat. I like walking through the neighborhoods to see how the locals live.

    Great location on top of the mountain with great view. Jiufen Old Street is within walking distance and all sightseeing places can be visited by foot. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was great too and the breakfast room and terrace also has a great view. The car park near the basketball field was occupied, but the car park next to the fire department hads a spot. Both are within walking distance to the B&B.

    The location is beautiful as there is a view on both the mountains and the sea. It is not walking distance to Jiufen which is a good thing because it's too busy there and I rather drive a few minutes for a visit and then back to some peace and quiet. The couple that owns and runs the hotel are very nice and helpful. We loved the traditional Chinese breakfast sitting outside the hotel looking at this amazing view

    I travelled with a group of 9. Was glad we took a bigger room with an additional living room and balcony which we could hang out together and not disturb others. Great view of keelung sea both in the day and at night. Do note that it is near Jiufen Old Street but you would have to climb a few flight of stairs to get there. Breakfast was lovely.
