As always, it's the best and most reasonable option if you are visiting the science park for work. The outdoor car park is easy to find and easy to park -- if you don't mind walking for less than 1 minute from the hotel entrance. The room is really spacious and well-lit during the day. I especially liked the lamp and tea bags (good choice). Already looking forward to coming back soon.

Hsinchu City, Taiwan, offers a unique blend of tradition and tech. Known as Taiwan’s “Silicon Valley,” it’s a hub for innovation, yet rich in culture with historic temples, traditional markets, and the charming East Gate. The city’s lively night markets, like Cheng Huang Temple Market, serve up delicious Hakka and Taiwanese street food. Nearby attractions include the scenic 17-kilometer coastal bike path and the serene Eighteen Peaks Mountain. While less touristy than Taipei, Hsinchu’s authenticity, friendly locals, and easy access from major cities make it a worthwhile stop for curious travelers seeking a quieter yet enriching experience.

    It is slow-paced.

It is slow-paced. You will rarely see other foreigners who are on vacation, but when we did it was like an exciting game to point them out. Unlike Taipei, people in Hsinchu have less advanced English. We relied on pointing and using Google Translate by typing or utilizing the conversation feature. The food was great and getting around was easy too. Walking was our favorite way to get from one place to another because it allowed us to explore more. As we walked, we would venture into areas not in our plans. When using trains, make sure to time your plans accordingly because, unlike Taipei, Hsinchu has less trains coming through. We relied on Google Maps to find all our information. In addition, Hsinchu rarely has stoplights for walking. You will have to stand and wait for vehicles to stop or just go when it is clear, and they will stop for you. All in all, I actually preferred our time in Hsinchu than in Taipei. Coming to Hsinchu city was just a gamble and a hub to explore neighboring areas, but I honestly wish we had stayed in Hsinchu longer. Pics: Hsinchu Zoo, glass museum, Xinzhu Hou Zhan Night Market, a place we wandered into, East Gate, road surrounding east gate, i forgot the temple.

I was in Hsinchu due to some works so i did not plan to go to tourist spots much. Most of the time I was in the Science Parks, University and walk nearby my hotel. I stayed in the what local call the old street so there were mini night market and street foods, temples, one shopping mall. The Hscinchu train station (local train) and bus station were walking distance from the hotel. Mainly I used trains to travel to other cities from Hsinchu. The part of Hsinchu I stayed is a quiet laid back town.

The Hsinchu zoo is a nice place to spend the morning. It's small and compact but still worth a visit just to see the Bengal Tigers up close! The God's temple in the middle of the city is an amazing experience although it is quite confusing to get to.

We always use this hotel. Great location, great staff, great air conditioning, just the property is a little tired is all. If they refreshed the property then they could probably triple the price point, but then I wouldn't be staying there anymore if they did that. If you want an expensive hotel then why stay in Hsinchu at all? Taipei has many more expensive hotels.
