A highlight of my trip around all of Taiwan. Easily the best breakfast situation I've had in the world, too! Rooms were massive, impeccably clean. Views unparalleled.     Kaohsiung has been , like Bilbao in Spain, considered for long time as an unattractive city, industrial and polluted, boring with no cultural life. These past decades the city has improved considerably, reconnected with the sea, remodeling ancients docks, building concert halls , museums, etc.. It is now a very pleasant city that attracts more and more people from Taipei who are looking for a less stressful life and a better climate. The public transportation is very good and you are close to beaches and hills with a lot of trails if your like outdoor sports. I will recommend a visit to this city for sure.

    With the MRT, easy to move around.

    With the MRT, easy to move around. There are wide footpaths for people to walk safely. Some of the smaller local restaurants do not have menus in english which makes it hard to order. Overall, a very organised city.

    Kaohsiung is a really cool city with very good public...

    Kaohsiung is a really cool city with very good public transport, food, art. I'm sad I didn't spend some more days there rather than in Hualien, where I extended my trip, but it was consistently rainy and many naturalb things were still closed from the earthquake. Kaohsiung has enough size to be a real city with a real "southern" feel. In the day though, it always seems to be crazy sunny like UV 11 - so factor that in.

    I was really surprised about the city.

    I was really surprised about the city. I didn’t have time to do all that I wanted. Also outside the city. Swimming with turtles was sooo great, and I could have done it much longer. Lots of colorful fishes as well. The best snorkeling trip so far. Hood place to visit!

    Convenient transportation via bus or metro. Great food with low price. Many interesting secret sightseeings to explore. Though the sidewalks for pedestrians still need quite some improvement. Usually occupied by vendors and motorbikes. Once away from the stations, need to walk on the road with the cars and motorcycles very close.

    Great city to visit, Lotus pond great to walk around with beautiful intricate details in some temples. Cijin island was great for exploring with the old fort and lighthouse. The Port area using the Light rail and walking was cool with the old wharf sheds turned into an art shops , cafes and sculptures.

    The bed is comfortable with 2 pillows for each bed. Location is good between 2 metro stations of walking distance. Also near night markets and fast food outlets within walking distance. Water dispenser on every floor. Very healthy breakfast spread. Very friendly staff at reception. Housekeepers are friendly too. This is in fact my second stay at this hotel (says a lot). There are bus stops nearby and a supermarket (not 24 hours) nearby.

    Location! It’s just across the street from Kaohsiung Main Station where you can take an MRT or the normal train. The high speed train from Taipei to Kaohsiung stops at Zuoying station. From there just take an MRT to Kaohsiung Main Station and cross the road to the hotel. The staff are friendly and professional.

    The location was excellent within walking distance of the metro and Kaohsiung main station. The hotel seemed to be in a quiet location so street noise was not a problem.
