Bellingham has a really nice safe vibe. Family friendly, no skyscrapers, easy to get around. Lots of great restaurants, coffee houses etc.We much preferred it to the big city vibe in Seattle. I like to bike and I found a great bike shop to rent a nice bike. The Interurban trail and South Bay Trail are amazing. Fairhaven has good shops and restaurants, and a nice little library. We are an older couple so we enjoyed the feeling of a small community that has adapted very well to accommodate population growth. We were quite pleased with Whatcom Transit bus service that took us wherever we wanted for only $1 per ride. I found Bellingham a great place to be around very nice people that accepts of who I am when I came there to do comedy skit shows and that makes me wanna stay longer while there. I highly recommend Boomer's Drive-In and The Blue Room. It's easy to get around Bellingham by catching either a train or tour bus.Guest review byAlexUnited States - 8.0

Walked through the arboretum. Great place to walk, trails over 175 acres. Probably more to do, weather was chilly- Fairhaven cute area to visit. Bellingham offers big city amenities while being accessible, within minutes, to opportunities to hike, bike, boat, ski etc. Also, presents easy opportunities for those less mobile to get out and enjoy nature. When I was growing up in Bellingham, this area was "sketchy“. Now it’s really up and coming and not bad at all. The front desk man was really friendly and personable. We chatted for an extra ten min at check in and he was really helpful getting us an personal cab driver who was SUPER quick and cheaper than a normal cab or Uber. Really good value for the price.
