If you want boat trips, kayaking, etc. you can do that,They are building new businesses in town, so it is an upcoming area. There is a small zoo right in town, we didn't have the opportunity to go there. Of course, in the winter there is skiing.

We visited in summer and it was a great time to enjoy the place for hiking, biking and great restaurants. The Village is a great place to spend time visiting shops and taking in the relaxed pace of life. I think the place will be more crowded in winter, but I prefer the summers.

The Big Bear Lake area has a lot to offer. We happened to stay the weekend of a big cycling race, but were there primarily for fishing. Beyond the outdoors activities, I was surprised to see so many other things to do. There is a nice, albeit touristy centralized area near the rental properties that is within walking distance. We also enjoyed shopping in the local community. Although we visited during the summer, I'd happily return during the winter. Next time however, I'd stay at a different rental cabin.

Beautiful location and sights... beware of [planned] power outages during summer months which affect the WHOLE town! Can't use the kitchen, and can't go anywhere else to eat either! Also a big concern for electric-car drivers!!!

    I loved the place I stayed--Lagonita Lodge.

I loved the place I stayed--Lagonita Lodge. Very spacious and right on the Lake. Friendly staff. Took Miss Liberty boat ride on my last day before heading home. Very tranquil and enjoyable and well worth the money. Enjoyed Big Bear Zoo. Not very big--just the right size with lots of cute animals. Enjoyed the Farmers Market they have at the convention center every Tuesday in Spring and Summer. Lots of good restaurants and good shops. An all around fun place. Hard to leave.

We love Big Bear Lake in the winter in the months when they have snow, we usually take the kids to the tubes, hiking and snowboarding, but in summer, you can do water sports, hiking and mountain biking

the staff is attentive and responsive, the rooms have a beautiful view, and in winter and summer it is quiet and calm, and their fireplace and live fire in the room are just a fairy tale, I recommend booking with a wonderful view of the lake. On Fridays there is a mini buffet, as well as a wonderful skipper who conducts a wonderful and exciting excursion to Big Bear Lake. The hotel has everything you need for a barbecue, a place to cut up the caught fish, a jacuzzi, a swimming pool, billiards and even a playground. I recommend!!!

Stunning lake views, gorgeous room, comfy bed, helpful staff and great location for enjoying the village centre. We booked this as a last minute stop off on a long roadtrip and were incredibly impressed. Parking was also very easy. We're now looking to return to Big Bear Lake and will stay here again

These are cute cabins close to the centre of a cute town. We were here in summer so didn't see the place in full swing, but we still enjoyed checking out the lake, and the many spectacular views around town, as well as when we were driving down the mountain back towards LA.

The location was great. I loved how the property has been updated. It’s an older property that has highlighted the cool aspects. All three of us voted that we’d stay there again instead of the big hotel just around the corner where we had stayed the last time.
