The hotel is situated a bit away of the main Street. On the main street are all the shopping and food areas you could think of. A hospital is close by the hotel. It seems it's an up and coming area, lots of building is going on. If you are looking for the ocean it's about an hour drive. We spent most of our time between the hotel and the local community center during this trip, as we were in the area for a event with our daughters We did spend time visiting a few shops and local restaurants. The location is close to the military bases, yet not in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of Ft Walton Beach. It was a little hard to access the hotel due to heavy traffic on the highway, a traffic light would have been helpful. Lots of eating establishments within short driving distances.
