We visited just after Grand Island experienced a large amount of rainfall and some streets were closed due to flooding. Otherwise, it was very easy to get around and find the places we were looking for. Detours were very clearly marked and easy to follow. If you visit Grand Island, you HAVE to visit Coney Island downtown! It's great food in a historic location. Ruthie's Steak and Seafood was worth the price. We were there to visit family who live in Grand Island and in the surrounding area..no much to do or see in Grand Island and the restaurants are terrible if you prefer healthy food. We were there for an agricultural event called "Husker Harvest Days" so we had little time to explore the city. We did visit the Stuhr Museum and enjoyed their display comparing "The Great Gatsby" to the same time period in Nebraska. They also have a permanent display of Nebraska's pioneering days.
