Independence is a small town that has the right amount of amenities to enjoy in a few days. Love the lake, walk the downtown area (just wish to see more open stores) and delicious places to eat! Plus, the free zoo, park, train and best the mini-golf all in one area. Love the small store where you find quality dairy products. Independence was fine the appletree hotel was dirty (blood on the side of the tub that was broken. The TV remote was broke, the air conditioning was broken the door to get into the hotel was broken so we had to walk all the way around to the lobby.
