I enjoy the slower and quieter pace offered in La Grande, Oregon. My ancestors homesteaded in the area during the 1800's and I still have family living in the area. It's nice to visit and walk or drive in the woods, view local wildlife, and visit with people --- family or strangers. Do not stay here Uber any circumstances. The place was dirty. The staff untrained and the housekeepers need more training and supervision. The place was a poor excuse for a hotel. Please don’t give this ownership a dime of your money. The ownership should be ashamed for this property. It looks like they have never put a nickel into maintenance or renovation. The king sized bed was very comfortable. The room was sparse but adequate for our purposes--an overnight stay on the way to the Coast. The room was very clean. The host congenial and helpful. Biggest deficit for us was that there was no coffee for in the morning and no place in the lobby to sit while spouse slept. Was not expecting that. But the price was very good. Traffic was low in that part of town, so the area was quiet. Although the motel is old, the room and bathroom were clean. The bed was comfortable, and we slept well. It was nice to have a Keurig in the room with different choices of coffee and hot coco to choose from and the bag of popcorn was a nice touch.
