There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking...
There are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance in the town. Wicks Park Bar & Grille had plenty of outdoor seating and really good food, Back Alley Pizza Joint had really good pizza and The Old Boat House had seating on the deck along the Kalamazoo river, amazing food and drinks. Great downtown with super shops and plenty to eat. (Week of Thanksgiving did have a lot of closed establishments.) Nice fall and holiday decorations. Friendly staff everywhere. Parking in Saugatuck is a pain.
Parking in Saugatuck is a pain. Too bad there isn't more of it, finding a spot is frustrating. We actually didn't stay very long because not everyone likes to shop and we didn't have a lot of time. We fell in love with Saugatuck.
We fell in love with Saugatuck. The town is very charming, the architecture is fun, and the neighborhoods are very lush and full of pretty styling and gardens. We loved Oval Beach and hiked Mt Baldy, the restaurants we dined at were fabulous, and the shops were very cute. We ate at both Pumpernickel and Pennyroyal and loved both. Saugatuck is a tourist town. It has a large variety of places to eat, drink and many, many options for ice cream. It seems a perfect place for a slow, relaxing summer vacation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Saugatatuck at the Arrowhead Resort. The location was great and was within walking distance to “town”. The walk along the water is very pretty. We liked everything about the area. We were there at a good time (mid May) with very little crowds. According to some of the shop owners it does get quite crowded in the summer time.
