Sister Bay was very expensive and way over crowded.
Sister Bay was very expensive and way over crowded. Our stay at Coach Lite Inn was awful, concerning our room. Our room was not cleaned - my Mother found a fake nail on her sheet in her bed!!! There was an earring back and dirt on the floor by the desk. It was so humid and damp on the room that the floor was wet. There was a dehumidifier that helped some but not much. One bed was tight up the an old air conditioner that did not blow out very cold air - it did not cool the room enough. There was water all along the floor - I dropped my phone behind the bedside table so I needed to move it out and it was disgusting back there - there was even a syringe!! I don’t know if it was from a baby’s medication or someone using drugs!! There was a small table with a couple chairs pushed up against a dresser - there was no way we could fit around it to eat or plays cards or anything. I was very disappointed by our stay. Thank goodness was we were able to spend so much time driving and enjoying the sites around Door County. On a positive the front desk people were nice. First of all it is beautiful.
First of all it is beautiful. Second I didn’t know it was there until I was looking up another location and seen it being advertised. It has everything you can think of and the town has its own coffee which is great so don’t go looking for Starbucks or McDonald’s you won’t find it. Hadn't been to Door County in 11 years.
Hadn't been to Door County in 11 years. Sister Bay has grown! Beach/Marina area is gorgeous. Many restaurants to choose from. Shops still line the main street. We enjoy being further north on the peninsula, with faster access to the parks in that area. Newport State Park in Ellison Bay area is dark sky certified, though the smoke from the Canadian fires created quite a haze while we visited. We will definitely return.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
This was my first time to Door County.
This was my first time to Door County. I found Sister Bay to be quite quaint and peaceful, of course, it was off season, but it reminded me of other coastal hamlets. The people were great! Country Inn Resort was absolutely wonderful! Dinner at the Wild Tomato was delicious, especially the curds and the local hazy IPA. Service from start to finish was awesome. We ate lunch at Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant on Easter Sunday. The goats haven't arrived just yet, but the food and service were great!Guest review byCatherineUnited States - 10.0

Sister Bay has a lot to offer.
Sister Bay has a lot to offer. Many places to stay, great restaurants and the view of the Bay is incredible, especially at sunset. We ate at Husby's on Friday night for a Fish Fry. We had the Perch, sweet potato frys and coleslaw. Generous portions and very good. I would also recommend Sister Bay Bowl. We were going to go there, but the three hour wait was too long for us. Next time we'll go earlier. Walking Sister Bay is relaxing after you find a place to park. We decided to go to Door County on Friday July 5th, made our reservation and drove up for a wonderful 5 day getaway. We stayed at the Pheasant Park Resort, which was just perfect for us. We swam in the outdoor, heated pool every morning between 8 and 9:30 am. They also have an indoor pool, whirlpool and Sauna. We had a two bedroom suite and enjoyed the extra room to relax, kitchen and two bathrooms. We paid full price because we booked the day of, so I don't know what you might pay if you book early. We always enjoy going to Door County and this a great and relaxing getaway. We drive up from the south, from Elkhorn, Wisconsin, through Milwaukee on I-43 North. At Manitowoc, we take the Waldo Blvd Exit north to Two Rivers. The drive along Lake Michigan to Kewaunee, Algoma, the North on S to Sturgeon Bay.
