Its an alright little town. All the locals were friendly. Shopping and restaurants were very few to choose from, but that is to be expected. Beautiful country and not far at all from Cumberland Falls.

We went to see family but the location is so beautiful and there is never enough time to see everything. You are very close to Cumberland Falls and mine 19 and I still haven't done the railroad yet. I am definitely going back but different lodging.

Stearns is a former coal town. They have a train that takes you to a restored coal community. It is very interesting. There is also nice sight seeing sites close by. It is worth a day or two trip, but stay at the FairBridge Inn Express in Whitley.
