I normally wait until I get home to leave a review, but I couldn't contain my excitement. My partner and I decided to book this at the last minute and got an amazing price for it. The staff upgraded our room before we arrived and told us we could check in and check out whenever it suited us. The owner was very quick to reply to our messages and the ground staff even gave me the option of room service or going around the village for dinner. Both Thuy and My were absolutely amazing. Most comfortable family rooms on the island. Great location. Friendly staff. Rooms gets cleaned every day (and new towels and water). No fridge in room, but you can use the fridge in the kitchen. Friendly and fair owner that speaks good English. Nice breakfast for sale. Owner helps to book boat tickets. You can pay with cash or card for everything. Lots of monkeys around. Fun to watch, they don’t bother you. There was a storm coming when we visited (which meant no boats for one to two days) and he was very transparant about it and offered us to leave early and refund us or to stay longer with a discount. We stayed and enjoyed 5 nights on the island instead of 3. ☺️ You can rent motorbikes or explore by foot (no cars on the island). There’s a great beach (called XEP beach) 10 min walk from the hotel. The island is much cleaner than the mainland, the people look after it.

The room is very nice and clean, there’s a fan and air cond which is very good. Every room has its own bathroom where you can find everything you need: towels, flipflops, shower gel, toothpaste, air dryer. You can rent a motorbike (if you don’t drive you can have a ride with the owner, he’s very nice and we did an island tour with him!!!) and you can have breakfast at the property. The property is not in front of the sea but it’s very close by!!

With mountain views, Monkey Homestay & Bar is located in Tân Hiệp and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden and sun terrace.

Very kind staff. I got in trouble during my stay but they helped me a lot even after the stay. Great personality that I would also love to have. The room is clean with nice view. Great stay.

It is becoming more and more difficult to experience real life as we travel as most hotels conform to international 'standards and norms'. One of the reasons why I loved staying here was I was warmly welcomed into the home and family by Tuan and his parents. Staying here gives you a real insight into life on this wonderful little island. The room is spotlessly clean and had a fantastic view of the water and little port. There is a little balcony upstairs where you can sit and watch the world go by - or better still sit down at street level in front of the house. Tuan organised my boat ticket so all I had to do was turn up. Breakfast consisted of freshly made banh mi by Tuan's mother and coffee. And the great 'leaves of the forest' tea. When I asked his mother where I might get the tea she called someone who took off on a motorbike to the market and brought various packets to me to buy. No pressure to buy though. I also really enjoyed the conversations with Tuan's dad - all through Google translate :) It was so interesting. I would recommend both Cham Island and Tuan's homestay to anyone looking to peel back a little of Vietnamese culture and everyday life
