The beautiful location on the Gariep dam, seeing the sun rise and set over the dam from the deck was absolutely beautiful. The staff were so welcoming. The rooms and grounds were immaculately presented. The owners were so lovely and generous with their time, I loved the opportunity to talk farming prior to depature.

Our stay at View Lodge in Gariepdam was exceptional. The accommodation was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, making for a truly relaxing experience. The highlight was undoubtedly the breathtaking views over the lake, especially at sunrise—an absolutely magnificent sight. We also enjoyed a braai near the pool as the sun set, which created a stunning and peaceful atmosphere. The lodge’s setting is perfect for unwinding and taking in the natural beauty of the area. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating—nothing was too much trouble for them, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable, scenic getaway with excellent hospitality.
