Upington on Sundays we were informed previously that...
Upington on Sundays we were informed previously that everywhere was closed and therefore no food available if you were not self catering. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived there to find a vere busy small commercial area consisting of restaurants, take aways and a supermarket catering for everything and open until 20.00h even on Sunday.There is lots of parking, lots of accommodation, town was quiet otherwise, and there is the mighty orange river running through which is of interest to visitors. If you plan to stay longer there are some cultural interests in the town and any shopping needs can be found therein on weekdays. It is a very hot town in the Kalahari desert region but with unusual vegetation. There is the Orange river wine producing farms where you can taste and buy if you are so inclined!Guest review byjoanTanzania - 8.0

Our rooms were spacious with everything one needs in a chalet. The beds slept very well and crisp clean white linen. Big bathroom with clean and fluffy towels. We could make ourselves some coffee and tea and sat outside on the veranda overlooking a beautiful garden. Enough shaded parking space.
