I felt like I was somewhere in the countryside of France. It's rustic and charming and unpretentious. We stayed in the main common area upstairs in a loft room, which was cozy with a fireplace. The bed slept well with a luxurious open bath tub and lovely large patio area, which looked out onto huge trees and different mountains views. The staff felt like family and made us feel so welcome. The cottage was clean - had lovely smeg appliances, a fantastic view and only a few minutes from town. We especially loved the fire wood hot tub and the braii on the front stoop. The fireplace and gas heater kept us warm. The hot tub was a great feature, but it did take 4 hours to heat up, not 1.5 as stated in the instructions. It was very cold which probably played a role though. Some lights still worked during load shedding and there was a small gas stove for use during load shedding, which was all useful. The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped for self catering, with a great BBQ and outdoor fire pit, log burning hot tub and open fireplace in the lounge. The outdoor sitting area is spacious and enjoyable to take in the views, see the horses in the paddock and watch the sunset.
