However, there is a pub serving food a few minutes up the hill with a convenience store in the same place. A small restaurant is on the street, but it was closed for summer holidays when we visited. The main room is large and tastefully decorated with a sofa and sofa bed (As the second bed is in the room it may not be suitable if you need separate sleeping places). The bathroom with WC is downstairs near the kitchen, with a small shower but is clean and functional. The garden is private and well tended with seating and a table. Saarbrucken is quite a big town and we found some great shopping. The hidden gem is the zoo which we visited on a wet day with hardly anyone else there. Allow at least 4 hours to get around.

The owners try to make you feel at home with nice decorations (we visited during Easter and there were even easter eggs in the beautiful magnolia trees). In the house there is a lot of tourist information. The master bedroom is very very large. The supermarket (Lidl) is only a couple of meters away by foot.
