Skalanes Nature Heritage Centre is 19 km from Langahlid Cottages, while Egilsstadir town centre is 29 km away. This place was incredible. Everything from the jaw dropping views to the small details, like robes in each room, was over the top. You can tell the owners have put their love into what they do. Best place we’ve stayed in Iceland.

With mountain views, this accommodation provides a balcony. Outdoor seating is also available at the villa. The villa was really nicely designed and had great views. The washing machine and dryer were a bonus after so many days on the road without any!

Each holiday home has wooden interiors and a bathroom with a shower, hairdryer and free toiletries. A sauna, hot tub and yoga mats are also available. The property was easy to find, and is very well located for day trips around Egilsstaðir. The house was clean, cozy and nicely decorated. There was a washing machine as well, which was very handy. The beds were comfortable. The area was very quiet, a bit outside of Egilsstaðir, but very quick to drive there. From the open area where the cottages are, there is a short path to a jacuzzi (which was spotless) and there is also a sauna. We had a very enjoyable stay.
