We spent an amazing few days at Denpaku The Beachfront Mijora during our recent trip to Amami. The hotel architecture was amazing and did a great job of leveraging the beachfront location. The room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable after a long day of activities. The breakfast each morning was a real treat.

We had a really nice stay at Mori no Fairy. The Appartments have enough space. Especially, we enjoyed our breakfast on the beautiful terrace. Also, the outdoor tub is nice. Our host was always available and ready to give recommendations for exploring the island. Definitely would recommend!

It was exceptionally comfortable and quiet. We slept great every night. Mr. Nakashima is super kind and gracious. We'd go back in a heartbeat. He recommended a fabulous restaurant two bus stops from the cottage. Do make reservations as they fill up p[retty quickly. Best fish you'll ever have and Yakushima beef sashimi!! The cottage was truly like a home away from home and felt totally private. It was a terrific added bonus to be able to do a couple loads of laundry.

Staying at NagataSeaTime was truly the highlight of our trip to Japan. The location is absolutely the best on the island – just few minutes away from beautiful beaches perfect for snorkeling with colorful tropical fish. We were lucky to visit during sea turtle nesting season, and had the unforgettable opportunity to join an official evening tour at Inakahama beach (5min away with car) where we learned about turtle conservation and even saw them laying eggs – an experience we’ll never forget. The area is also close to Yakushima’s wild west coast, where you can often see wild macaques and Sika deer freely roaming in their natural habitat. The house itself is fully equipped with everything you need – a complete kitchen, washing machine, and very clean and comfortable amenities. We also rented a car directly from the owners, which made exploring the island super easy. At night, the starry sky above the house was absolutely magical – unlike anything we’ve ever seen. We tried some of the activities offered through the accommodation, including snorkeling and kayaking, and both were fantastic. Shio and Anthony took such great care of us – warm, welcoming, and full of helpful advice. We 1000% recommend staying at NagataSeaTime and spending time in this part of the island. We’re already dreaming of coming back!

The house is really clean, beautiful, and has everything you need. I feel the host prepared many thoughtful details—like bathrobes in case guests visit the hot springs, plenty of informational booklets about the island, and more. Most of all, my friend and I feel like the host genuinely loves the house and the island. 😄 Also, the staff is very helpful!

While parking was indeed limited, there were plenty of coin parking options available in the area.
