It’s also convenient to reach from Dublin without a car: take a train to Westport and then the 423 bus (be sure to check the bus schedule in advance; the bus stop is at Mill st). The rooms offer a stunning view of the fjord!

Location, environment, character, staff, breakfast. All that means one is spoiled. Have to be back to enjoy the prosecco and history tales we missed due to late arrival. A Wonderful Stay at Buttermilk Lodge I had a fantastic stay at Buttermilk Lodge! The self-catering apartment was beautifully equipped with all the essentials, and the attention to detail was impressive. The location is perfect—close to the city center and just a 30-minute drive to Connemara National Park. Great eateries nearby too! Catriona, the host, was incredibly warm and helpful. Her positivity and approachability made my stay truly special. I highly recommend Buttermilk Lodge and look forward to returning!
