Tranquil environment but still within good reach of the public transport. Easy to wander the east side of the city. The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful. The guesthouse itself was very cosy and authentic.

Opening in March 2014, Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei offers accommodations with a modern yet traditional décor. Right in the center of Kyoto, also in the traditional neighbourhood so you can easily walk out of the hotel exploring various Japanese culture and food. The hotel itself is of strong Japanese style and it’s really clean, bright and spacious. The staff are very welcoming. Also we enjoy the indoor bath there. Defo an amazing place to stay.

Piece Hostel Kyoto, který byl uveden do provozu v dubnu 2013 se zcela novým zařízením, se těší praktické poloze pouhých 5 minut chůze od vlakového nádraží JR Kyoto. The staff was great, they helped us deliver the phone my father forgot in the bullet train to the hostel, which at the Lost and Found office told us is going to be very difficult for an accomodation to do. The place is very clean, showers are separated in sort of mini rooms so there is a lot of privacy. There are dyson hair dryers which was unexpected for a 2 star hostel. The beds were comfortable as well. Location is walking distance from the main station and was very practical.

Ideally located just a 2-minute walk from lively Nishiki Market and Ponto-cho Street, Matsui Honkan boasts large public baths and chic Japanese-style rooms. We loved everything about staying at Matsui Honkan and look forward to the next time we can visit. The whole property is well taken care of, with beautiful traditional features and peaceful classical music playing throughout. There is a high level of attention to detail with thoughtful touches, such as an origami crane to greet you, pjs to wear, and a special treat for our honeymoon. A true highlight was the incredibly kind and cheerful staff. They make this place truly special! We also loved the onsen, what a gorgeous place and a real treat. Best place we’ve ever stayed!

* Reservations are usually accepted up to four months in advance. Only a 5-minute walk from Shiyakusho-Mae Subway Station, Nishiyama Ryokan - Established in 1953 features Japanese-style rooms, a... Great ryokan! It's my first time staying at ryokan and my dad was amazed on how clean and well maintained the ryokan is! It's more than 50 years old but everything looks clean and spotless. Tea ceremony is very educative as a matcha lover and the traditional clothes are also a plus. Recommend staying here (pricy though). We got new year japanese special breakfast and the food was a loootttt! We are very full until afternoon... we also got to taste some good traditional Japanese food we never taste before. Location is close to tourist attractions using bus (some temples nearby and lots of restaurants nearby if using bus). Great experience in kyoto!

Ryokan Kyoraku se nachází v centru města, pouhých 7 minut chůze od severního východu z nádraží JR Kyoto. 3 minuty chůze od chrámu Higashi Hongan-ji. Ve všech pokojích je zdarma dostupné Wi-Fi. The staffs are very friendly and gentle. They are always willing to share more information with you. The location is perfect. A couple of mins walk from kyoto station. The room is exceptional clean and I slept so well for my 2 nights there. Definitely a great experience
