We had a phenomenal experience here! Everyone was super welcoming and helpful. The breakfast buffet which was included in our stay was amazing! Rooms (and the property as a whole) were really nice, clean and quite large. We had four people and didn't feel cramped at all. Plenty of space for all of our stuff. Good parking outside. Easy walking place to the nearest town and some smaller beaches. Nice pool with chairs, jacuzzi and gym. It was also super close to the airport and since we had to leave quite early to make our flight, this was super helpful.

Santa Bárbara Eco-Beach Resort is located in Ribeira Grande, north coast of São Miguel Island. Oh, I am in love with this place: the room, surrounding area, service, food - all were perfect. We stayed in the room with the pool. It was cold to swim, obviously, but nice to look at. The view on the ocean and mountains is breathtaking. Sunrise paints your room in different colors, tiny birds play and sing on the grass in front of the house every morning. Perfect. And they prepared special tea ritual every evening for us.

The 4-star Octant Furnas is located in São Miguel Island, in Vale das Furnas, site of the largest concentration of thermal waters in Europe. Great hotel with a relaxing and well equipped spa area. Friendly and helpful personnel. Really nice breakfast and dining options available as well.

We stayed in one the villas. It was extremely private and there was so much attention to detail. The gardens are lovely. The outdoor shower was my favorite.

Anna welcomed our family and was full of recommendations and explained the history behind the Refugio. The location was excellent, out of the busy Ponta Delgada, but still close enough to easily explore all around Sao Miguel. The loft we stayed in was spacious, airy, and comfortable. Each morning, the breakfasts delivered was amazing and filling. Even though the houses were all full, it was very quiet and peaceful. The common area had great coffee and treats and interesting art and products from local artists. We didn't want to leave.
