Visited Punta del Diablo at the beginning of December, still not high season, not warm enough, and quite empty. One night and one day were enough to visit the village and walk around the beaches! Beware of having cash with you, many lodgings and commerces don't accept credit cards as a payment method. It is a wonderful place to retreat to, rest and at the same time be connected. There are two good local supermarkets, restaurants, a bus link to Cabo Polonio for a day visit and a direct bus from Montevideo or Rocha. Hosts Juan and Yolanda are attentive and on hand to help if you need them. It was the perfect place to spend just over a week resting and relaxing in the middle of a 2 month work research trip to Latin America. Highly recommended.Guest review byNaomiNetherlands

Also, he makes a super nice breakfast. The only downside is that it is decently far (+-20 min walking) from the "town" where you can get food. But there is a great parrilla nearby, LAPARRILLA Punta del Diablo, which accepts card. The rooms are actually container blocks, a bit old, but comfortable with a good bed, fridge, small but good shower. Breakfast was in the Vieja Blanca hotel and it was good (also with fresh fruit).
