We came to Peje to go hiking in the nearby hills on the newly established Balkan Trail. An infrastructure to support walkers is in its early days, but easy enough to figure nonetheless. The weather was chilly, but we still enjoyed our 3 days. The area is beautiful and we will need to return during the summer months to explore the mountains. The people were unbelievably friendly (as in all of Kosovo). We made friends with the workers at Coki's Pizzeria near the river. We also enjoyed the walk along the trail on the southern side of the river. There is a small little place to have coffee on the opposite side of the river where you cross the bridge. The room was large and well furnished, clean and really welcoming. The breakfast was truly sublime. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and had a really good meal and at really cheap prices.
