Limassol is the second biggest city in Cyprus and the largest port in the island. Known for its vibrant nightlife, history and wine production, this tourist destination features long sandy and pebbly beaches, interesting museums and delicious Cypriot gastronomy.
Situated on the Akrotiri Bay, cosmopolitan Limassol is the southernmost city in Europe and home to the beaches of Governor and Lady’s Mile. The medieval Limassol Castle, as well as the ancient cities of Amathus and Kourion are some of the must-see attractions while visiting Limassol.
You should not miss the charming Old Town with its traditional houses and small streets leading to the old port and the beach. Featuring rich vegetation like eucalyptus trees and cypresses, the green Public Garden is home to a zoo with animals like tigers and lions.
Kolossi Castle is about 14 km from the city of Limassol, and the Greco-Roman theatre of Kourion is 18 km away, near the village of Episkopi.

Limassol was a great base to travel to others places and attraction eg Pafos, Kourion, The many Monasteries and Churches around Troodos Mountains, The Geopark What I found difficult though was the lack of car park facilities. Limassol is a city that is growing strongly with traits of modernity that are combined with traits of a town that has an ancient tradition and history. The inhabitants are very kind and helpful. Limassol is a mixture of old and new. It's a very busy lively place. The Old Town has so many restaurants catering for every taste. There are 2 Theatres which have regular concerts plays and films. There are 2 cinemas. You are never far from the sea where there is a lovely palm lined promenade. My favourite place is the Old Town and especially the old market. I always eat at the Polycarpos restaurant which serves traditional Cypriot food. Limassol is an amazing city. A place you can visit all year round. We explored the beauty of the ancient Limassol Castle and enjoyed a leisurely stroll around the charming old town. Limassol (Lemasos) is a place which is right a the centre of the southern coast. The city itself is very beautiful and happening with lot of things to see in and around the town. Additionally if you have a car then you can plan various day trips to Paphos, Troodoos, Aya Napa , Nicosia etc. We planned this trip in December and it rains heavily , so plan your trips accordingly looking at the region where chances of rain are less ;) . We received a complimentary fruit platter on our final day which was very appreciative. Have a room given to us without a bath when we was aware that we had a bath due to our sone being scared of showers, and once I saw our room only had a shower, I informed the reception desk and within minutes they changed us to another room and all our things was taken care of.
