Loved our stay at Aloha! The location is excellent, near a main street with tons of restaurants and cafes but off on a residential street so you don't hear any noise. The room was spacious, a comfortable bed as well as a couch. The staff were super kind and able to arrange drives or tours to the nearby temples.

The location was great and very convinient the inside is full of plants and very green, its a small jungle inside the city. The staff is very friendly and helpfull, we had help to book the ferry tickets and also transfer taxi and its really good to see that people still look after you, which makes the stay even better. The room was clean, confortable and nicely decorated. Another big plus it was the breakfast pack prepared as we had a tour very early in the morning and having an area to refill bottled water. There is a big issue yet with plastic waste and single use. Hotels should pressure more the Goverment to educate people about waste management and reducing the use. We see the more touristic areas being cleaned and as well hotels trying to reduce, still there is a long way to go and we just like to leave this suggestion for a better future in this amazing places.

Located on a quiet street in a busy neighborhood, it was a good base to explore around. Scooter rental at the hostel was very convenient. Also able to get a cheap SIM delivered, rather than buying one at the airport.

This hostel was recommended on a German travelling website so we decided to give it a try. It was best hostel experience I ever had! Fist of all, the place looks even better than the photos. Very colourful, cozy, and stylish. There is so much space provided, especially if you want to hang out with the other guests at the shared rooms. There are two shared bathrooms. I would especially recommend the open-air one, it was nice to take a shower surrounded by trees after a long and hot day. We got a small room without sink, and it was absolutely enough, if we wanted some space we went to the hammocks. If you want to grab some food or drinks, you can go a few minutes by foot. Everything you need is close. On our first night we were smart enough to follow Ardys’ (he works at the hostel and is the coolest guy we met in Indonesia so far) recommendation to go to an bar nearby. We met very welcoming locals and listened to live music. Ardy was always available if we had questions, problems or funny stories to share. Happy Buddha is absolutely the place to be in Yogyakarta, the service is so great you don’t even get concerned about the few ants in the bathroomfloor:) It’s a hostel with a great personality you feel at home directly! Perfect location and excellent staff!

The staff were amazing. The hospitality of staff in Indonesia is amazing. Little things like when we left, one of the staff offered to fill my kids water bottles for the journey without prompting. Very caring. Or after the kids had been swimming they offered us a drying rack without prompting. Breakfast for the kids was great; either omlette, toast or pancakes. Cereal was available 24/7. The pool was available 24/7, with lighting overnight. Honestly amazing hotel and staff, so great value too. They were very accomodating with us on our check out day even though they were fully booked that night.

Such a nice hostel. The beds are really comfortable and the rooms are very clean. The owner is kind and helpful and provides all the recommendations you need. I really recommend!
