Beautiful design, friendly and helpful staff. Great food and drink. Spacious room with all facilities. The minibus service to the underground railway station was very useful and regular.

Japanese style is present in every room. One of the best hostels I've stayed in. The decoration is beautiful and meticulous. It's extremely clean and comfortable. The place is so pleasant you don't want to leave. Supermarket is close and also close to a great tattoo friendly sento.

Cozy house with comfy beds,had a great sleep and the neighbourhood is quiet but still near to bus stop to the centre. We also had breakfast and it was so good!Thank you for the great stay for my first time at kyoto :)

Our stay at Ryokan Tori was for sure one of the highlights of our trip to Japan. Satako and her husband were so kind and so welcoming -- and the experience that they create for their guests is magical. The ryokan is located in a wonderful part of Kyoto, and we enjoyed exploring the shrines, temples and traditional streets that surround it. After exploring, we returned to a tea ceremony that Satako shared with us. Afterwards we bathed in the onsen, and then slept incredibly well in the traditional bedrooms. Breakfast the next morning was wonderful. We felt like we were in a dream the entire time -- it was an enchanting experience. Our night at Ryokan Tori will stay in my memory and heart forever. Excellent location, 300m from metro (Kyoto bus w/luggage is a pain) so station is easy. Imperial palace is next door. Silent street. Host is friendly, room is indeed spacious, furnished tastefully. Lots of wall sockets. Microwave, fridge is good to have. Openable window, balcony.
