15 minutes from the local toy train.
30 minutes from the parking lot.
I personally suggest anyone travelling to Matheran take a toy train and not the horse which costs unnecessary money.
west end hotel has one of the best buffet and serves great meals for breakfast and lunch as well as dinner.
