Sophia and Luc were incredible hosts. They’ve done a fantastic job with the family lodge we stayed at. Simple, modern decor with a gorgeous garden and easy access to the river. Couldn’t recommend more.

Private massive tent with great views from the porch. We unfortunately arrived in the rain and left in the rain, so the birdwatching I hoped for was a little dampened. Fortunate rain for all the animals plants and people of the bushveld tho! The owners are gracious and helpful - and such good cooks. Despite the downpours and wind, we slept warm and dry in our unique accommodation. Would love to visit again on a sunny day!

Situated within the Amakhala Game Reserve, Safari Lodge - Amakhala Game Reserve is a thatched lodge offering an outdoor swimming pool, garden and sun terrace. The Port Elizabeth Airport is 88 km away.... We had a great time at the Safari Lodge. Food was great, staff was super friendly and always helpful, wonderful reserve and awesome ranger. Highly recommend it!

Located in the heart of the Amakhala Game Reserve, Woodbury Tented Camp offers an authentic outdoor experience in safari tents. The camp overlooks the ancient floodplain of the Bushmans River. Gorgeous tented camp set in a lush area, lovely main building with excellent meals served by friendly, attentive staff, tents set off individually for privacy, each with a sweeping view of the preserve. Our guide, Lenny, was very experienced and we learned much about the many animals we saw - lion, cheetah, elephant, rhino, giraffe, many kinds of antelope, warthog, more! We did 6 3 -hour drives; suggest booking enough time to do at least 4-6.

Situated in the Amakala Big Five Game Reserve, Bush Lodge offers an intimate lodge experience. It features an outdoor swimming pool, viewing deck and a number of game drives and bush walks. I absolutely loved everything about this stay! All of the staff were so attentive, friendly and professional. They really made me feel at home. All of the little touches and attention to detail were so appreciated and made the stay extra special. The setting was idyllic, the ‘tent’ was lovely and comfortable and the food was delicious. The game drives blew my mind. I still can’t believe all of the animals we were able to see. I kept track and we saw 62 different animals over the 6 drives! The interactions were just incredible. That was thanks to Jono Vision! Jono’s passion and enthusiasm for the animals and his commitment to making sure we were well taken care of was next level. This was my very first safari and the bar has been set high! Thanks to all who made it such a great stay!

This colonial-style tent features a private deck with outdoor seating and military campaign-style furniture. The bathroom comes with a shower. The whole experience was great. Wish we could have stayed more.

This luxury tent features a private deck with panoramic views of the reserve. It comes with tea -and-coffee-making facilities, a fan and safety deposit box. We had an amazing stay in Gorah. Everything was perfect: the game drives, the lodge and the tents, the staff, the food, the care for the details. The only pity is we stayed only one night.

Located at the Tree Tops Safari Lodge, perched high on thatched platforms with decked walkways. This tree top, thatched-roof luxury tent offers a private balcony with panoramic views of the valley. Everything was just perfect. The rooms. The Service. The food. The safaris with Nel. So interesting to learn about nature and animals. She she did the safari with so much passion, professionalism and so much fun. Exceptional. We had the best time ever. We stayed for two nights but it felt like a week. Nothing to add. If any chance we would love to come back anytime.

Having only 4 lodges, the whole experience felt very personal and private while at the same time enjoying the feeling of community with the other guests during game drives and meals. Our ranger Tim did his best to show us everything we wanted to see and more while making us feel safe and sharing great stories. Renzo and the staff made sure to be ahead of every of our needs. We even had the elephants coming to drink in the pool twice during our stay - it's not just great marketing ;)
