The grounds are beautiful and have amazing views of the mountains. When our 2wd rental struggled to get in and out on the road Pat & Lyn were extremely accommodating, shuttling us to and from our car.

Boasting a patio with garden views, a private beach area and an outdoor swimming pool, Kingfisher Lakeside Retreat can be found in Trafalgar, close to Trafalgar Beach and 1.6 km from Palm Beach. It was a great breakaway for me and my son. If ever you feel like a 'Robinson Crusoe' vibe then this place will tick all the boxes. We enjoyed the deck overlooking the stream and the ability to cook outside. We also enjoyed the proximity to the sea and one has the whole length of the coast to explore at leisure. Best of all, and this was quite a surprise for me, was the internet connectivity. I would have loved to have spent a few days working from there with connectivity like that. We were warned about the noisy frogs, but we loved this symphony at night. Actually as we now live in the Netherlands looking for natural sounds to stream is the closest we can get to the real thing. So, definitely best experienced for real!

Known as Thanda Tented Camp, this camp is built in colonial-safari style. Each spacious tent comes with a private sun deck and en-suite canvas bathroom. The absolute best part of our first visit to South Africa. An experience we can't forget. Warm welcome, our trackers were beyond amazing, our villa was breathtaking with a plunge pool and cabana to soak it all in, and wildlife right outside. We loved everything about it. The boma night that was arranged for our last evening sealed this deal. We spotted giraffes and zebras on route to the villa. This is where the magic started and it continued throughout our stay. Absolutely everything about this safari was well worth every penny. Traveling from Canada with our Infant, we ended our vacation with this trip and I wouldn't change a thing about it. Thank you to all the staff for showing us what living a fulfilled life is all about. This is as close to wildlife and nature as we could get and it was perfect! We can't wait to visit again for much longer. 2 game drives a day, wake up calls available, excellent meals, villas spoke to Africa's culture, outdoor shower was a must, plunge pool overlooking the terrain with giraffes strolling through the area. Wow!

The fireplace is the standout feature of this mobile home. Guests will find a stovetop, a refrigerator and a tea and coffee maker in the kitchenette. The mobile home also comes with a barbecue. It is all awesome till you have been there you will not understand what awesome is.

This air-conditioned mobile home consists of 1 living room, 3 separate bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with a walk-in shower. It's the perfect hideaway for our little family. So comfortable, so clean, so well equipped. Perfect.

This tent features a shared bathroom, a balcony with lake views and fruit for guests. The unit offers 2 beds. I enjoyed the unique experience. Using an outdoor bathroom was fun. Hardly any cellphone reception allowed our family to connect on a deeper level. It is a mind reset experience. Go with no expectations and an open mind, and you will come back a brand new person. Pieter and his crew were such a pleasure to be around, Thank you for making our trip so special!
