We spent a night at Gunnar and Claudia’s Bed & Breakfast. Our room was very pleasant, the furniture and objects were chosen with great taste, the shower was very comfortable, and the bed allowed us to enjoy a truly restful night. The breakfast room is the jewel of the place: the furniture and tableware are beautiful, the cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, and jams are delicious, the warm bread releases a gentle steam when broken, and Gunnar is busy in the kitchen preparing pancakes. The hosts are charming—we hope to return someday, as they have created a haven of peace and good taste. The region also has some very interesting towns, such as Aabenraa with its fascinating harbor. A heartfelt thank you to Gunnar and Claudia for offering us this little cocoon.

There is a small supermarket and some other small businesses nearby and also a cafe/bar/restaurant right on the property, though we didn’t have time to try the food there this time. Staff was super friendly and highly responsive. I forgot my bag in the apartment and realized this after checking out, but they came to unlock the door for me right away. The bed in the Amethyst Suite is incredibly comfortable - we wish we could have taken it with us! Everything was clean and tidy and just as described/shown in the pictures. We also loved that it’s a dog friendly property (dogs are 250 DKK) . The surrounding area is quiet and great for walking your dog. Overall we were super happy with the place and would like to return someday.

There is plenty of storage space. The bathroom is luxurious. The lounge area is spacious with a large, comfortable couch. Everything seems new, or at least newly updated, spotlessly clean, and meticulously maintained. The location is on the main road but the room was very quiet. We did not hear any street noise. The optional breakfast was delicious and well worth the small extra charge. We had enough left over to pack picnic lunches. Birgitte is delightful host. She greeted us warmly and made sure our stay was perfect. She even allowed us to park our tandem bike in her garage and loaned us a garage door remote.
