The twin room turns out much better than the photo shows. The whole guesthouse is super clean and comfy. The host Mr. Yoon is welcoming and made miltiple trips to transfer us from and to Munsan Station as well as the DMZ visitor center. Highly recommend an optional private Bird Watching Tour offered by Mr. Yoon. The tour is only available in winter season which showcases elegant cranes from Siberia. Mr. Yoon drove us to a restricted zone where there are loads to see. This is easily the most enjoyable tour we have ever had.

This was a great hotel for a one night stay after a concert in Goyang. My friends and I used the room well. The staff were very friendly and let us check in early. The room itself was large and very clean. It is in a quiet, residential area but you do have to walk up a bit of a hill to get to the actual hotel/hostel. Overall, it was worth the money for a one-night stay.

The goshiwon is really quiet and clean. And other tenants are also really respectful of the quiet rule. It's easy to come back to the room and relax after a day of walking around. Only thing you might hear is hurried footsteps but all in all, everyone keeps it down. In terms of the room itself, there's a single bed with thick cozy blanket and firm pillow, a small fridge (I did not use), a small fan, hanging closet, and simple organizer. If you're not used to thin mattress, you might not like it. But no one goes to goshiwon for luxury, so~ The weather during my stay mid-May 2025 really helps keep everything cold, so one singular small fan is enough to get air circulation moving and keeping me cool. In terms of separate shower and toilet, I think they're both really clean and well kept. It's easy to navigate. Just make sure you're entering the right stalls. Girls have a separate toilet and shower with "여자“ written in front. In terms of public transport, it's SUPER close to Tanhyun train station and Gyeongnam Honorsville bus station. So whichever your prefered mode of transportation is, it's within walking distance. In terms of finding food, you have a lot of choices. There are convenience stores and restaurants all around the area. The GS25 store at the back is accommodating if you can't speak Korean too well. In terms of the common spaces like the kitchen and unlimited food, I didn't really try them out. But I see other tenants using them and I think if I had to stay longer, I'd definitely cook some rice and ramen myself. Just make sure you separate your trash! There's a guide on the goshiwon door on which trash goes where. For the price, there's really nothing to complain about if you're coming to Tanhyun in May.

Jun was the best! He picked me.up from town (multiple times) and transported me and another guest to the DMZ and acted as a guide for no charge. He was super friendly and generous. The place itself is simple and easy. It's in a quiet little village that isn't too far from the larger town or some interesting spots nearby.

What a great way to see DMZ ! So much better, and oh my cheaper too! then doing a tour from Seoul. Easy metro ride from Seoul to Munsan, Mr Joon will collect you from there and look after you well. Lovely clean hostel, new facilities. Semi rural setting, some nice eating places just around the corner. 20 min walk to DMZ to purchase your tour ticket. Easy, relaxing and fun, totally stress free. I highly recommend everyone coming to stay here for this experience

This guesthouse is the best guesthouse we've been to in Korea! Everything is so clean and fresh but best of all is Mr Yoon, the host! He always made sure we had everything we needed. He showed us around alot and drove us to the dmz zone. We were suppose to stay 2 nights but ended up staying 2 extra nights! We spent amazing evenings at the guesthouse together with the host! Breakfast was really yummi with good croissants!
