Paul & Leo were so incredible kind and sweet. Paul organized a trip to the 17 islands for all the guests in the homestay, which was a beautiful day out. I was feeling sick one night and they really took care of me. They kept checking on me to see if I was okay and made sure I was well taken care of. As a solo traveler this really has an impact on me when it happens. On my last night they invited me to eat with their family and it was the sweetest thing. It truly felt like home away from home. I would 100% stay here again and if you are planning to come to Riung this is the place to stay.

Blue Parrot is located 5 minutes' walk from Labuan Bajo Harbour. Guests can travel to the beautiful Komodo Island located a 20-minute speed boat ride from the harbour.

Featuring granite flooring, the air conditioned rooms are fitted with a terrace, soundproofing and a seating area. We chose the blue Parrot as our base to start our day trip to Komodo from here. We experienced a very warm welcome by our host. He has been very supportive and gave great advice for restaurants and organized taxi etc. The joint breakfast room offers a stunning view and the entire place was very clean, all stuff was extremely friendly. Breakfast is simple. Location is slightly uphill but in walking distance to all major points of interest in that small city of Labuan Bajo.

The room and bathroom were spacious and clean and there is a small seating area immediately outside the room on a tiled verandah where a lovely and filling breakfast is served. The aircon and mosquito net were both great. Most of all l received such a warm welcome from Tommy, his wife Chia and the grandparents who were all so friendly to me during my stay and helped me improve my Indonesian. Tommy was extremely helpful and kind - he went and got cold beer for me, gave me a few lifts, and organised a share car for me to Moni. I felt very happy and comfortable here and would come again. I stayed 3 nights in total Phone reception was good.

At the guest house, units are equipped with a private bathroom and bed linen. We had an amazing stay at Har's place. The location is nothing short of dreamy, with amazing views of the valley hills just in front. Har has constructed all the houses (I recall around 3-4 now) by himself, you can check on his IG for more detail on how he built them! All of them are really comfortable and unique, following the local architecture, blending with nature and each of them providing a different experience. Har is an expert and consultant on organic farming and produces his own veggies that he uses to cook the most fantastic breakfasts you will ever have, super yummy and different everyday, with the plus of overviewing the views directly from your stay. Don't forget also to order dinner from him, much better than eating anywhere else, every meal was amazing. Har always went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable, showed as around his plantation (he plants to reforest the area with a thousand fruit trees!) and the best: he gave us the best tips on the island, pointing spots that are not even in Google Maps and ready to explore. Think on pristine waterfalls, empty beaches, beautiful local villages, hills, etc. Please visit Har and Sumba before it gets ruined by the evils of mass tourism, and please visit with an open mind, it's raw, wild, authentic, and that's why is missing facilities compared with other destinations, but that what make it so unique and special. Thanks so much Har, we cannot wait to visit you again, cannot wait to see your new creations, houses, farm and forest!

The terrasse was amazing and it was a really pleasant to sit and eat breakfast there. The breakfast was well served and delicious! The owner is very kind and helpful, she helped us get a scooter as well as a shared taxi to Moni. It is pretty close to beach, where you'll find a nice restaurant located on Sea World resort. It is not close to center of Maumere, but it didn't bother us at all.
