Comfortable Accommodations: Onsen Guest House Tsutaya in Hakone offers comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, air conditioning, and mountain views. Only some rooms include a balcony, tatami floors, and free toiletries. Possibly the best hostel I have ever stayed - though that word doesn’t do it justice! Onsen and all common spaces were beautiful, the kitchen was the best appointed I’ve ever seen with everything from cooking sake to coffee beans and grinders, staff were helpful. It’s a bit out of the way of things but that makes for a really peaceful atmosphere.

It is located within Fuji-Hakone National Park, and a 2-minute walk from the nearest Senkyoro Mae bus stop. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We really enjoyed the free matcha offered. They also provided a variety of printed tips that were extremely useful during the trip. Especially the restaurant recommendations, where they even called and made reservations for us. The onsen was another great highlight that added to the relaxing experience.
