I loved the friendliness and helpfulness of the host and his family. He was able to help us arrange transportation to/from the guesthouse and also the safari jeep. The location is very quiet despite being by the main road. It’s located some distance from the safari but still relatively close by. we managed to see the elephant and even a leopard! The room itself was clean and well planned, all the basic amenities were provided for us.

My stay at Corner Cottage will remain a positive memory of my time in Sri Lanka. Gihan and his wife truly care for all of their guests, looking after their wellbeing and also allowing for independence and privacy. It felt to nice to be well cared for, especially when traveling alone. Gihan can help arrange tours and activities and will take you himself in his Tuk Tuk when available. They have bikes for hire and I enjoyed riding all around Anuradhapura a couple of times. Their food is amazing! In the past they owned a restaurant and it shows. A huge variety and the best food I’ve had in Sri Lanka. I am gluten intolerant and they were very accommodating to my diet. You can tell they care a lot about their business, investing in it and caring for their clients. Extend your stay, you won’t regret it. There’s much to see In Anuradhapura and you’ll not want to leave Corner Cottage.

Location was well out of the way with an amazing lake within a few minutes walk with trials to walk also bit perfect for Wilpattu national park. Food was really nice and the room had everything you could need.

Wilpattu Mookalan Resort se nachází v destinaci Habawewa a má zahradu, nekuřácké ubytování a bezplatné Wi-Fi. Jen 39 km odtud je Kumbichchan Kulama Tank. Perfect location 2 mins walk from the entrance to the national park. Lovely attentive hosts, the Mrs is an excellent cook and we ate like kings for our two night stay - breakfasts simple and tasty, dinner an enormous rice and curry spread that could've fed and army, and the lunch box we had on our safari was a tiffin full of delicious fried rice and curry with loads of snacks and drinks. The safari our hosts organised was excellent, just the two of us in the jeep and a driver/guide who could spot an ant from a mile away. Unfortunately no leopards for us but incredible birdlife, and various other animals (spotted and barking deer, warthogs, crocs, mongooses, grey langurs etc).. They also organised very reasonably priced transfers between our accommodations afterwards. There's also a nice loop walk near the lake close to the accommodation for an evening stroll. Highly recommend this place for your time in Wilpattu.

From being welcomed with special fresh fruit juice to mid day star fruit,, everything about this place was great. Kalhara is an amazing host and very helpful. Even the breakfast was very nice and complete sri lankan style. Loved staying here.

It’s very rustic and simple. AC is very functional. There were a few hiccups, but the outstanding staff addressed everything immediately. Everything I tried on the menu was delicious. There isn’t a lot to do in Habarana, but it’s a great location to stay if you want to visit the cave temple, Sigiriya, Miniriya and Polonnaruwa. The first three are less than 30 mins away. Polonnaruwa was a fast hour.

Staying at Sweet Home Tourist Rest turned out to be one of the best decisions we made on our trip to Sri Lanka. It’s rare to find a place that offers both great value and a truly personal touch , but this one does exactly that. Instead of just a room, we had an entire private apartment, including a comfortable living room, which gave us so much space to relax. It was quiet, clean, and located in a peaceful part of town, making it easy to rest and recharge between our adventures. And considering the price, it felt like an absolute steal. What really made this stay unforgettable were the authentic experiences arranged by the hosts. Nilukshan helped us explore some of Sri Lanka’s most iconic sites with thoughtfully organized tours, the Wilpattu safari was stunning, and our visits to Anuradhapura and Mihintale gave us a deep appreciation for the country’s culture and history. Everything was well-timed, smooth, and stress-free. We also had the chance to join a Sri Lankan cooking class with Malsha, which ended up being one of our favorite memories. The class was fun, hands-on, and filled with flavor, we left not just with full stomachs, but with recipes and techniques we can take home with us. If you’re looking for more than just a place to sleep, if you want comfort, authenticity, and connection this is the place. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

Blooming Holiday Resort se nachází v destinaci Anuradhápura a nabízí ubytování s venkovním bazénem, neplaceným soukromým parkovištěm, zahradou a terasou. Anuradhapura Railway Station je 4,2 km daleko.... Probably one of our favourite stays in three weeks in Sri Lanka. The host family is absolutely lovely, and probably the best breakfast we ate in all our time! Fresh eggs, coconut pancakes, fruit and juices, tea, etc. and for dinner the most incredible rice and curry spread. Really quiet location away from the hustle and bustle of town, either a quick tuktuk in to the temples or via bicycle around the lake/reservoir - our hosts organised bicycles to be delivered to the homestay within a couple of hours of requesting them, so we could go around the temples at our own pace. We just went to the free temples but there is also a paid temple pass which gets you into a couple of the bigger structures. There are so many beautiful free ones to see we elected to leave this and didn't feel like we missed out - recommend splitting them between the afternoon/evening before and early morning the following day if you only have one night like us, to avoid the worst of the heat and minimise temple fatigue! Highly recommend staying at this lovely guesthouse.

Jídlo od hostitele bylo pestré a výborné. Vždy něco nového. Byli jsme rádi, že nabízejí místní dobroty a vždy bylo dost jídla. Při brzké návštěvě safari jsme snídani odložili až na poledne po návratu.

Habarana Dulwan Guest House nabízí zahradu, terasu a pokojovou službu. Pidurangala Rock je 12 km odtud. Na místě je k dispozici soukromé parkoviště a dostupné je také bezplatné Wi-Fi. I can't say enough about the kindness of Upali and his family during our 4 night stay. Upali is always friendly, smiling and helpful. He picked us up in his tuk tuk at the train and his wife made us a delicious dinner as we arrived quite late. Upali will help you organize your stay and will provide you with transportation at reasonable prices. We visited Sigiriya and Dambulla one day and Anuradhapura the second day. I highly recommend both excursions. Our 3rd day we were rained out from a village visit but we enjoyed a down day and explored Habarana a bit. The rooms are a good size, a/c worked well and shower was hot. Breakfast was Sri Lankan and was huge and we could never finish it all. For the price you pay, the value was excellent. We were also able to use the kitchen fridge to store some food and beers. I highly recommend this homestay and hope you choose to stay at Dulwan Guest House. Thank you for making our stay memorable!
