Wonderful hostel with thoughtful touches and delicious breakfast. Staff went above and beyond to help and make our stay comfortable, even finding and accompanying me to a clinic to help translate when I needed to see a doctor. I am so grateful for their hospitality!

From communications prior to our arrival to meeting our host and the entire stay, we had a wonderful experience! The kitchen is large and fully stocked, they have a washer and dryer, and the rooms were exactly as listed. Our host was courteous and the staff would keep the guest house super clean. They even gave us a bottle of fresh squeezed locally farmed mandarin juice, which was delicious.

This was the most wonderful stay I have experienced. I stayed here whilst I did the Kumano Kodo. I loved the style of the building. The location was great for the walk itself as a half way point. You feel exhausted after that first day and this is a great place to stay to rest and recoup. The welcome drink was very welcomed and we enjoyed it in the lovely garden. The room its self was plush and so comfortable. Hitomi and Omry did everything to make this the most comfortable and enjoyable stay. I don’t even know where to start with the meal, you must book the dinner, breakfast and lunch. It was definitely at the maximum end of my budget to do this but I will never forget the experience. Me and my friend shared a 5 course dinner, all courses were oishi (delicious) and so perfectly presented. Even now 2 months later I can remember the dinner and the flavours and how it made me feel. The packed lunch the next day was perfect fuel for the walk. Great shower to rinse off from the day as well and lovely living room area.

The flat/ room was spacious, clean, all the amenities and utilities.. Hist was very helpful with our checking and check out bags storage. The area is ideal and walking distance from Central attractions and shops.. All in all could not ask for more, would revisit anytime and wholeheartedly recommend.. Just a great experience overall*****

Our stay at Temple Hotel was unforgettable, blending smooth check-in with authentic Japanese hospitality. The kind monk welcomed us with a tour of his family’s temple grounds, shared local dining tips (his izakaya recommendation was excellent), and generously offered complimentary sake, shochu, and beer, complete with a gas stove for warming drinks. He even guided us in setting up our futon beds. The temple opened at 6am, and we were invited to join his 7am prayer service and participate in rituals like sutra copying. Before we left, he gifted us a meaningful Wagen Aigo souvenir and sent us off with blessings. This stay was a genuine experience of Japanese culture—highly recommended.

Mr. Wan was very attentive and helpful, and even gave us some great food recommendations. The house has a shared space with a washing machine, which is really useful after several days of traveling. Our room was spacious enough for two friends or a couple like us to stay comfortably, and everything was spotlessly clean. The beds were very comfortable, and the house provided all the facilities we needed. The location is also convenient, about a 20-minute walk from a main attraction and food area, and only 5 minutes from the nearest metro stop. Overall, a great value for money! And don’t miss Mr. Wan’s amazing cold brew — much better than wasting money at a random Seven Eleven, his coffee is absolutely delicious.
