If only I could rate the hotel more than a 5 star, I will. 1. The owner/host both are so accommodating, helpful and is super kind. I experiences the real Japan omotenashi (hospitality) thru them. Especially the lady owner, she goes a long way to make your stay comfortable and as convenient as it is. She even help call a reservatuon for taxi. 2. The accommodation feels homey. Clean, comfortable and spacious. I slept in a Japanese style room that has futon and Kotatsu. The kotatsu is so comfortable that you dont want to get off them. The Heating is also excellent so the room is warm. 3. The room is equipped with air cleaner, fridge, tv & there is also available himidifier that you can use if needed. Basic amenities are provided too and a yukata. There is a common toilet on the second floor and so as the basement. Microwave is also available for use if you warm your food and the owner can lend you plates and utensils. 4. The nearest onsen is 3 minutes by foot and the owner will give you the 100¥ coupon discount if you use the nearest day onsen spa. 5. The location is perfect just a minute walk to the main ropeway station that’ll take you to the snow monster. 5 minutes walk to the convenience store, 7 minutes walk to the bus terminal and has few good restaurants around. 6. The breakfast is also delicious and hearty. The hotel has big dry room for your ski/snowboard gears and cheaper ski lift tickets if you buy from the hotel. I highly recommend this place and I will definitely come back again next winter season.

This is truly the best place to stay!!! The most amazing hosts, fabulous big breakfast and nothing is ever too much trouble - they are so kind! They picked us up from the bus stop, took us to hire our ski gear, sorted our ski passes and dropped us at the slopes and picked us up! Their hospitality is the best in Japan! The accommodation is sooo cosy and warm! The beds are really comfortable and we loved everything about our stay! You can not find better hosts! It is our second time staying here and we will definitely be back again! Highly recommend staying here!

Green Season - 民泊 Matsuo House in Zao Onsen - Japanese Style - Private Room se nachází v destinaci Zao Onsen v oblasti Yamagata a nabízí bezplatné Wi-Fi a neplacené soukromé parkoviště. I love the family (parents + daughter), it's their personal home with 4 guest rooms ( Japanese tatami style rooms with shared bathroom). I like evenings by the fire exchanging travel stories with the family and guests. Sharing our food and drinks with everyone. Access to the kitchen to prepare your own food, (if you stay long get groceries in Yamagata before coming). Wash machine access (at small fee). Location: next door to free Onsen (10 meters) and close to ski lift (400 meters) and convenience shop (400 meters). Overall felt really welcomed and would recommend this.

Winter Season - 民泊 Matsuo House in Zao Onsen - Japanese Style - Private Room se nachází v destinaci Zao Onsen v oblasti Yamagata a nabízí bezplatné Wi-Fi a neplacené soukromé parkoviště. I stayed for four nights here and absolute perfect experience. The house owners are a family with a kid. And can communicate with Cantonese, Chinese, English, Japanese and even Thai. They are very friendly and introduced the ski resort with nearby onsen. The room is clean and large enough for 2-3 ppl. Although the house don’t have the onsen,it only need 1 mins walk to a free public onsen. Lawson and central rope way is 5-10 mins walk. Generally I strongly recommend to all people that love staying in guest house. Totally worth it. Especially for someone is solo ski trip.

Shukubo Daishinbo se nachází v destinaci Curuoka a má zahradu, nekuřácké ubytování a bezplatné Wi-Fi ve všech prostorách. Jen 24 km odtud je Kamo Aquarium. The shrine is so historical and beautiful. The meals (shojin ryorin) was so good. I appreciate the public bath. I joined the 7am prayer session. It's eye opening and the priest spent time explaining to us the history of Dewa Sanzan and the shrine. I left my bag after checkout to hike up to Mt. Haguro (walking distance to entrance). Then took a bus to Tsuruoka train station.

Yamagata Zao Pension Aplon Stage se nachází v destinaci Kaminoyama a nabízí zahradu, antialergenní ubytování, bezplatné Wi-Fi a terasu. Jen 2,3 km odtud je Lyžařský rezort Zao Hotsprings. Good location to visit Lake Okama and to experience lovely outdoor Onsen in the nearby village. However the top reason to stay here is the wonderfully friendly owners and the beautiful food served for both dinner and breakfast. Simply lovely, helpful people. A fantastic experience not to be missed
