The place is very relaxing, yet you feel the jungle, in the good way. The stuff is most delicate and gentle. The facility is luxurious. We had a great time. All the payments for your stay are dedicated to the preservation of the forest. Wonderful.

They invited us to their family new year celebrations and we were honored to join them. The food they prepared for us on both nights was delicious and adapted to our taste. They helped us with hiking trips and organized each activity we wanted to plan. The mud chalet was clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and we felt very much at ease.

I am beyond happy to have had the chance to visit this place. I spent three amazing days at your hotel with such a beautiful view of the elephants. Waking up in the morning to see them, hear their deep sounds, and watch them roam freely in the field was an unforgettable experience. It’s a wonderful opportunity to observe wildlife while enjoying the comfort of your hotel. The terrace is fantastic, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and everything is so cozy, clean, and beautifully designed. The hotel smells amazing, and it has everything you need for a perfect stay. My deepest gratitude goes to Roshan and his family for their incredible hospitality and for helping with the excursions. I am truly thankful for these wonderful three days. I was so happy to meet everyone involved in running this hotel and to get to know the culture of Penawawa. I’m already recommending this place to my friends, and many of them are eager to visit and experience the same emotions. I will definitely be back and would love to spend more time in this magical place!

Hosts were incredibly attentive to anything I needed, they were always available to provide great info about nearby spots and prices. While Mawanella in not a main tourist hotspot there are some gorgeous spots to explore if you like nature such as river with waterfalls, several hiking spots and trekking paths through the rainforest, it is an awesome location for nature lovers. Also, it's proximity to Kandy and Elefant sanctuary puts you in a great location to explore surrounding attractions. Hosts were always able to arrange local transport to wherever I needed to go and for amazing (local) price, can't thank them enough. Breakfast was wonderful, home made and super tasty. They also provided fruit and tea for my relaxing time, also plenty of bottled water all the time. Place is very spaceous and comfortable with garden around the house, there is also a lovely erected area, like a treehouse, for you to enjoy, that is surrounded with greenery, a great place to just relax and see some birds etc. All in all, a wonderful family that I'm happy to have met and I'm so thankful for all their help with information and transport. Hope I'll be able to stay there again sometines in the future.

What a lovely warm welcome. Dunisha not only runs a wonderfully positioned hotel (right beside a river with wild monkeys passing through each morning) but he cooks too! The food he made for us was personalised, creative and delicious. Very delicious! Our room was very comfortable and anything we wanted he was happy to provide. If we passed through the area again, we'd definitely stay there. Very affordable accommodation and cheap but exceptional dinner. Great value for money!

Leisure World je 41 km daleko. our stay at bogala village eco resort was truely exceptional! we loved the location. it was really a escape from day to day busy life. The staff was very friendly and arranged everything as we wanted. We got large portions for breakfast which was really yummy and it was included to the booking price aswell. Really worth the price. Wanna go there again in the near future. If you are planning to go there, go for a night stay highly recommended.
