Chatka plně vyhovuje jak na přespání tak i na menší vaření. Venkovní posezení včetně hamaku je super. Restaurace je přímo u ubytovaní se skvělým jídlem. Kousek je pláž. Líbilo se nám moc.

Very cute hostel with super friendly Staff, kitchen is very clean and better than 90% of hostel kitchens (i have seen a few). Cute and clean rooms. Everything super super nice!

Arcari Garden Hostel se nachází pouhých 400 metrů od národního parku Tortuguero, jen pár kroků od pobřeží, a nabízí bezplatné Wi-Fi ve všech prostorách. Excellent hostel right in the heart of Tortuguero village and easy too reach from the docks. We had a private room with ensuite and it was comfy and had AC - which was great to recover from the humid heat. Staff is wonderful and friendly. There's a common kitchen if you want to do your own grub, but also plenty cheap food options in the village. No problems paying with card anywhere, even small sums in the supermercado. The big highlight of this place is the tours organised through Aracari - we went on the canoe tour and the turtle tour (absolute MUST, it's incredible to see them) with Israel who is a gem of a guide, and on a night tour with another Aracari guide (sadly I don't remember his name) but he was also super great! I saw a baby sloth through his scope 😍 Also book your boat tickets ahead on tiketico, and once at the docks, look out for the Fersa/Fersa2 boats which are the ones that work with Aracari.

Simply one the best Hostel I ever been to. The location is far from Puerto Viejo, of course, but the beach is close (ten minutes by walk), and just a bit further there are three supermarkets and a pharmacy (and you'll find yourself in the main road, pretty easy to do anything). Then, you're staying in a very nice jungle spot. The facilities are great, good kitchen, big rooms (with lockers and plugins). All very clean (you can see how the volunteers are making an effort, they're really great: all the staff is very friendly and helpful). Good common areas with a fantastic atmosphere, very social and easygoing (I would dare say you can actually feel at home: your home in the jungle). Highly recommended :)

Chinitas Eco-Lodge is in San Francisco, a quiet village north of Tortuguero. We booked the deluxe queen room: perfect for our family, basic but clean, with good AC, and surprisingly bug-free! Breakfast was tasty, with coffee/tea, fruit, and a hot platter, and there are several wonderful hammocks for relaxing by the river. However, the best part our stay were the people: 1) Ana, one of the owners, was so warm and helpful (and patient with my attempts at basic Spanish) and her staff were equally friendly; and 2) Owen the tour guide was FANTASTIC: he has such passion for conservation, has a a sharp eye for spotting wildlife, and was instrumental in getting us to the right spots for turtle nesting. Strongly recommend booking the morning Canal tour as well as the late night Turtle tour with Owen, and booking the lodge in general if you want a welcoming, authentic experience!
